Modeled after Nicholas Nixon’s “The Brown Sisters”, we held the 3rd Annual “Baby Buddies” Photo Shoot this spring! (Which, I should probably start referring to it as the Buddies Shoot, since none of them are babies anymore!!) For those who are not familiar with this personal project of mine, I met a great group of women about 3 years ago through Maple Groves ECFE, what started as a couple of women getting together for play dates has now turned into years of friendship, monthly moms night outs, and dear friends and confidants. We thought it would be fun to photograph the babies all together, and the images were so great, and really marked were we all started our families, that we decided to keep doing them!
So that is what the Buddies shoot is all about! Documenting not only the original 7 kids, and their growing and changing…but really documenting us 7 women and our growing and evolving families!
My FAVORITE part of these images, is when the 7 kids are lined up, and looking down the line at all the individual expressions and stories that seem to be going on. These next three are my absolute favorites from this session! I want to get the progression of images on canvases for my studio! (Plus, it kind of reminds me of a cute, little kid version of Lewis Hines image of the construction workers at the Empire State Building.)
